What is ESL?

ESL stands for English as a Second Language. Our classes were designed for adults whose first language is not English.

Should I take ESL or English classes?

English classes were designed for native speakers of English. ESL classes were designed for speakers of English as a second language.

If I start taking ESL classes, do I still need to take English and Reading classes?

It depends. Our academic ESL classes were designed to prepare students for mainstream academic classes. However, every student is different. Talk to your professor about what classes you should take after your ESL classes.

I don't have much money. How can I take classes?

You can apply for financial aid. Lots of our students have financial aid. You may get some help or you might get all your tuition and books covered. Contact the financial aid office for information on how to apply.

How long is a semester?

A semester is 16 weeks long.
